Why professional tree care matters
Northern Arizona's high-elevation climate, monsoon season, wind, and varied urban landscape make tree care more than a seasonal chore. Trees that are overcrowded, neglected, damaged by weather or improperly pruned can become hazards — causing property damage, injury, and costly emergency responses. Proper tree maintenance supports long-term tree health, improves property value, reduces liability, and keeps neighborhoods safer. As your local tree experts, Mick's Tree Service LLC is supported by Certified Arborists who understand the unique needs of trees in Northern Arizona and provide services tailored to our environment, and weather patterns.

Safety procedures and equipment
Our crews follow strict safety protocols. We use personal protective equipment (PPE), harness systems, rope and rigging techniques, and certified aerial lifts and cranes where scenarios demand mechanized lifts. We coordinate with utility companies for work near power lines and use traffic control setups on public roads. Our emphasis on safety protects customers, workers, and the public, and reduces liability for property owners.
Importance of proper pruning and tree care
Pruning is a skill. Improper cuts or over-pruning can reduce a tree’s ability to withstand disease and storm stress. We prune to improve structure, reduce weight on weak limbs, remove deadwood, and maintain clearance for buildings and utilities. With decades of combined crew experience, our team makes preservation-first choices unless removal is the safer, more practical option.
Benefits broken down for homeowners and businesses
Homeowners
Reduce the risk of falling branches, improve property curb appeal, maintain healthy shade trees, and prepare landscapes for seasonal storms. Pruning supports home safety, energy savings through shade management, and the health of valuable mature trees.
Businesses and municipalities
Consistent tree maintenance reduces liability, maintains safe access, supports property aesthetics for customers and tenants, and preserves the benefits that mature trees offer.
Sustainable approach and clean-up
We practice responsible disposal and offer stump grinding, chipping, and haul-away options. Where feasible, wood can be repurposed into mulch or firewood. Our cleanup standards are high: we sweep debris from driveways and streets and leave your property neat.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Mick's Tree Service LLC carries liability insurance and workers’ compensation to protect property owners and workers. We provide details during estimates.
How much does tree removal cost?
Costs depend on tree size, location, accessibility, the presence of power lines or structures, and whether a crane or aerial lift is needed. We offer transparent, written estimates after an onsite assessment.
Do you offer free estimates?
(928) 774-5892We provide competitive pricing and clear estimates. Depending on the job size, we may schedule a free initial consultation. Call (928) 774-5892 to arrange an on-site evaluation.
When is the best time to prune trees?
It depends on the species and the goal. Many trees benefit from late winter or early spring pruning, while others are pruned after flowering. Our arborists provide species-specific schedules to optimize health.
Can you remove stumps?
Yes, we have 5 different stump grinders that allow us to grind almost any stump. We understand sometimes just getting the stump below the surface is desired but often grinding out completely is what needs to happen to replant a tree in the same location. Grinding is a beneficial alternative when removing invasive species if using a herbicide is inappropriate.
